Tansen is one of the famous hill
towns of western Nepal. Situated at the southern slope of the Mahabharat range,
the town’s hill offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan range from Dhulagiri
in the west to Ganesh himal in the east. In the town we can experience genuine
Nepalease art and architecture and culture. The architecture of the town is
strongly influenced by people migrants from the Kathmandu valley. The another
attraction of this city is Rani Mahal, the building built in neo classical
architecture of Europe by Khadag Samsher for his beloved. This building is
considered as the Taj Mahal of Nepal. Tansen can be reached by eight hours
drive from Kathmandu (300 km), five hours drive from Pokhara and four hours
drive from Lumbini.
