Marpha village in Nepal

  


         

Marpha is a village that lies in the windswept Kali Gandaki valley at an alititude of 2,650 meter from sea level. In Marpha there are many apple orchards. So this village is famous as the village of apple orchards. Many tourists are attracted to walk along this apple pie trek. Apart from apple garden, the culture and lifestyle of Thakalis, the indigenous people of this place and Buddhist gompas are the other attraction of visiting this place. Ekai Kawaguchi was the first tourist to visit Marpha in the 19th century. This village is around one hour walking from Jomsom airport. There is regular morning flight to Jomsom from Pokhara (Half an hour)
